I've recently been introduced to Danish trio Mont Oliver. I've loved every single track they've released so far, and I'm pretty excited to share their new track "White Sheets" here.
"White Sheets" seems to flow quite naturally from their last release "19" (which is just as amazing, by the way), combining heavier hip hop/gangsta elements with a soul-drenched R&B vocals.
The backing loop could have easily been lifted from a classic Wu Tang or Cypress Hill track, while the distorted vocal samples add something straight out of early 2000s rap. Instead of dropping into a rap verse though, it opens up into a seductive R&B verse with a absolutely gorgeous vocals traipsing their way through the acrobatic melody.
One of my personal picks for best discoveries of 2014, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Mont Oliver's EP 19, out on November 17!
