When I was about eight years old, I wasn't allowed to have parental advisory CDs, but I *really* wanted Nelly's "Country Grammar" album. I probably complained about it so much that my mom grew a hatred for rap music – my dad doesn't, and he still bumps Lil' Wayne.
Anyway, I went to my aunt and uncle's wedding that year, and instead of bringing them a wedding gift, I was gifted an album that may have changed my life. My aunt snuck me the album and said "don't tell your mother." I didn't tell her, but of course she eventually found out, and was forced to play it in the Nissan mini-van she was driving at the time.
I fell in love with rap and hip-hop beats the moment I heard this tune, and I haven't fell astray from that yet. This was a special family moment for me, and since today is my one year anniversary with Indie Shuffle, I felt that this song is just as special as the family and team I've been fortunate to grow with.
Happy listening, and thanks for all the good times.
