A recent announcement revealed that Angel Olsen's new album might be released this year. Angel Olsen is an American singer-songwriter and one of indie rock's beloveds. Her career began when she recorded and toured as a backing singer for Bonnie "Prince" Billy and the Cairo Gang, and following that she made ground as a solo artist. In her younger teen she had dreams of becoming a pop star but as time dragged on and the punk rock scene influenced her, she started leaning more toward rock. That love for rock was then solidified as she learned to play and write songs towards the end of her schooling. Her discography began in 2012 with an EP, Strange Cacti, and an album, Half Way Home, released under Bathetic Records. She was then signed to Jagjaguwar, releasing Burn Your Fire for No Witness in 2014, followed by 2016's My Woman

Angel Olsen New Album

Titled Phases, Angel Olsen's album is said to be released on November 10th, 2017. At this point, it stands as rumor, but does seem highly likely. The Angel Olsen fandom has been putting their heads together to try and figure out just what exactly Phases could be – popular opinion is that it's a B-side album with some unreleased tracks. With that, comes the even stronger opinion that fans just want a brand-new studio album from her. However, we're pretty certain that they'll relish in a B-sides album too.

Is Angel Olsen Gay?

Previous album, My Woman, had the question 'Is Angel Olsen gay?' on the tip of everyone's tongue. It was perceived as an aggressively feminist album due to the title and the lyrical content of Olsen singing as a woman to a woman. Those same factors also lead people to question the singer's sexuality, but Olsen spoke out about it saying:

"I don't know if I wanted to make a statement. It was just by default. What do you think about when you read those words [My Woman]? You think about some sort of ownership over something or about a person in your life that you feel very connected with? Or maybe you think it's a degrading term... Some people are even disappointed that I'm not gay. To me it's more about me standing up for myself and what I believe in and not hiding behind something."
