A new Arctic Monkeys' album may be arriving sooner rather than later. The rock band formed in 2002, having since released 5 albums, and with an ever-increasing fandom, the excitement for a 6th album is off the charts. Any hint at what the release date could be or signs of the band in studio automatically sends shockwaves through the Arctic Monkeys universe. Which is palpable right now.

Arctic Monkeys' New Album 2017

Earlier in 2017, Arctic Monkeys' drummer, Matt Helders, posted a photo of his drum-kit with microphones around it. Fans went wild, posting comments such as 'EVIDENCE,' '6th Album in the making!!' and 'Did you realize the piano behind the drum-kit which appeared in a photo being played by Alex?'

Here's Arctic Monkeys' lead vocalist and guitarist, Alex Turner, sitting at the piano that featured in Matt Helders' image.

Then photos surfaced of the whole group together in Sheffield where they are set to record their 6th album.

Arctic Monkeys 6th Album

The Arctic Monkeys' last album, AM, was was produced by James Ford, who also produced the Klaxons' award-winning album Myths of the Near Future. It was the band's most commercially successful album and was nominated for the Mercury Prize for Best Album in 2013. With all this acclaim for their former album, it seems the 6th has big shoes to fill.

As of August 2017, the fandom shivers were realized once more with word of a release date coming from Will Franco. Franco had bumped into Matt Helders at a Royal Blood show in L.A. and managed to snap a photo with him, which he then posted on Instagram. In the comments someone asked about the new album and Will answered. The comments is in Spanish, but roughly translates as 'He told me that they are already recording and hope to finish everything at the end of this year.'
