Panorama Music Festival in New York City is sometimes affectionately referred to as the East coast's version of Coachella. Which isn't hard to believe, as they're actually run by the same people.

If you’ve ever been lucky enough to attend Coachella, you’ll know it as one of the biggest, if not the best, music festivals on the planet. The organizers really know how to put on a world-class music festival -- that's why many New York City-based music fans were thrilled when Panorama landed in New York City back in 2016.

Now in its third year, Panorama brings a fusion of technology and innovation while being one of the best festivals around for discovering new music. Traditionally the Panorama lineup contains a mix of well-known acts with a healthy smattering of those that are relatively undiscovered. The headliners this year will draw huge fan numbers, especially for The Weeknd on Friday night and The Killers closing out the festival on Sunday. Other stand out acts on the bill for the weekend are The xx, Odesza, The War On Drugs, and one of my favorite New Yorkers -- St. Vincent.

The most exciting part about Panorama is the thrill of discovery and the opportunity to discover new acts. Every year I've walked away with a couple of new bands to dive into and explore. There's no better way to discover a new act than to experience them live, firsthand.

Other festival highlights this weekend include THE LAB -- an interactive experience which draws  together art and design from local artists, and includes a panoramic virtual reality theater. The festival also features THE POINT, a giant outdoor club featuring electronic and house music.

Panorama Music Festival takes place on Randall's Island Park in New York City, from Friday, 27th of July through to Sunday the 29th. Tickets are available here and full details of the line up are here.
