Rhye's Mike Milosh sat down with NPR and gave them the scoop on the next album to come from the R&B duo. This is big news considering 2013's Woman has had no follow-up, until now, even though Rhye exploded in popularity after its release. The new album has a confirmed name as well as a release date.

Rhye Debut Album Woman

Mike Milosh and Robin Hannibal recorded their first album in a bedroom studio. The reception was massive and lead to a pretty comprehensive tour. However, Milosh actually toured alone, without Hannibal and has, to date, performed 476 live shows. It appears as though Hannibal was involved in the debut album and then stepped away shortly after its release. Perhaps the R&B duo that we have come to know and love as Rhye, is in fact not a duo.

Speaking about his touring, Milosh explained that he would use the shows to experiment with new material:

"I put new songs into the shows, I took them out. I tried songs, played them for a while, took them out. So people heard songs they didn't know, they were unfamiliar with."

New Album Blood

Artists across the globe tend to express their songwriting as an act of taking something important from their rich, personal inner world and wanting it to exist outside of themselves. In his own words, he describes this feeling as a "compulsion" and like "therapy." For Milosh, this is his driving force behind the new album which is set to be called Blood and is due for release February 2nd, 2018. You can listen to new song "Count To Five" off the album below.
