Why do we like this?
Night Terrors of 1927 are a Los Angeles based band that only have two singles out right now. They do a great job of blending synth-pop and indie rock elements to create fuzzy, anthemic tracks featuring male and female harmonies.

"Dust and Bones" is a little less 80s-esque than the other offering on SoundCloud, "Watch the World Go Dark" (which may or may not be their own spin on Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" -- kind of sounds similar, if you listen carefully).

After doing a little digging, I found some info on Buzzbands.LA, and it seems as though the band members have quite the musical backgrounds:

"...they don't want you to know about their distinguished backgrounds, at least not until you hear the music, lest their resumés color your impression of the song. A little bit self-conscious? Perhaps, but that's the way Jarrod Gorbel and Blake Sennett wanted it, at the beginning. Gorbel has to his credit two albums and four EPs at the fore of the Honorary Title, and another album and two EPs as a solo artist. Sennett was a principal on four Rilo Kiley albums and three by the Elected, and he produced Gorbel's 2010 disc The Devil's Made a New Friend. Here, the duo hop on the slippery slope of orchestrated electro-pop, all sad and romantic. Swoon away."

I'm looking forward to hearing more from them. According to Neon Gold, Night Terrors of 1927 will be supporting Pacific Air at The Echo on December 7. Should be a good show, if you're in the area.
