Why do we like this?
Hopefully you recall Nonaphoenix on Indie Shuffle a few months back, because Jakub Andrews and his trusty banjo are back with their third release, "Our Own Mountains." What can I say about this particular song? Well, Nonaphoenix sure know how to bust out a damn good folk pop tune.
I've said this before, but the banjo is indeed the most tranquilizing instrument that has ever graced my ears. I am an absolute sucker for it, and it's probably why I like this song as much as I do. Jakub ain't too shabby himself; he has pretty solid folk vocals evident in the deeply layered but melodic chorus.
Nonaphoenix has hinted that next release will be on Valentine's Day -- perfect timing, in my opinion!
