Why do we like this?

This is effortless chic isn't it? In the same way Sofi Tukker is gathering lots of attention by actually stripping back the production and making sure the samples, instruments and vocals are as poignant in the mix as they can be, this simplicity in electronica music is being embraced worldwide.

The Los Angeles outfit are releasing their debut EP Life With Lobsters next month after touring and brewing up some hype through touring and hometown shows. Many have tried to attribute genres from punk (I can see the bare scraps of that I guess) through to trop-house (that's a thing now?) but I think a basic advert for this track could read 'electronica for surfers'.

It's chilled with power-up moments, without being so fancy that it could be mistaken for East Coast glossiness.
