Why do we like this?
of Montreal has just announced that they will have a brand new album ready for a release this fall, titled Lousy with Sylvianbriar. Yeah, I don't know what that means either.
Regardless, this new single, "Fugitive Air," has a nice sound to it -- it also has of Montreal sounding more streamlined and less cluttered than ever. Kevin Barnes, the band's frontman , said they recorded it with the same approach as bands did in the late 70s, and that their method was to be more lyrically driven as opposed to putting a lot of bells and whistles everywhere.
I think it's paid off for them, as this single is pretty solid. Looking forward to hearing more off the new album!
