Looking at San Francisco's Outside Lands Festival
line-up, I feel overwhelmed. There are a ton of awesome bands playing (sometimes at the same time!) over three days, starting with this Friday, August 12. Luckily, being a San Francisco resident, I won't have to travel too far to see some of the crème de la crème of 2011's indie music scene.
I recently helped my friends over at
Holiday Matinee compile a
killer playlist of our favorite songs from musicians playing at the upcoming festival, so I wanted to do a little something different here.
The following are my top picks for female artists playing Outside Lands, whether they fly solo or whether they're leading the pack (like Little Dragon's lead singer, Yukimi Nagano). I'm not normally a rah-rah feminist, but a little girl power never hurts, right?
