Why do we like this?

The New Age Fable

There is a certain beauty in writing a title to a song, a title that has to encapsulate everything the song stands for, and with a single stroke of thought, Patrick Watson has created a beautiful story.

I expected this song to be magical, unique, and beautifully captivating, this was never in doubt, and yet I was still shaken by how engrossing the track was. A collection of fantastical noises, aquatic filters, and a soft whispering vocal performance from both Patric Watson and Teresa Salgueiro. "A Mermaid in Lisbon" is a track that made me feel like a child again, but not in an energetic way, no, this track made me feel like the curious kid in the forest learning everything about everything.

A beautiful track, a beautiful story, a beautiful experience.
