Peter Piek is a German painter, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and performance artist. Having recently released his latest 5-track EP, plus, "Let Love Begin" was my introduction to him.
As a self-proclaimed "eclectic artist who does not draw lines between music, painting and writing, be it of lyrics or books", it's easy to understand why the application of his voice could comes across so effortlessly and effectively feminine. With similarities to the bubbly spirit of Sylvan Esso and the raspy intensity of Fever Ray, Peter Piek makes for incredibly interesting and soothing listening.
His style sounds like it would be translated into a great live show, so if you're in Germany/Central Europe be sure to keep an eye out for his upcoming dates.
