I love a good nine-minute track. Who doesn't?

Welcome to the world of Australia's Planète, a Melbourne artist who kind of doesn't sound like he's from Melbourne. 

Got 17 minutes spare today? Helix is the first part of fresh two-track release "Helix / Två Fontäner," a sweeping, snaking journey through ambient escapism.

You'll first hear the rich chimes and a subtle yet solid beat, but listen closely to the vibrant instrumental layers throughout -- an eerie blend of white noise and beautiful melodies, the overall soundscape is fascinating. 

The track keeps climbing with gentle power. The atmosphere grows spacier, more metallic after the halfway mark, before giving way to melodic flutters and meditative bells. 

It's really exciting to see music like this coming from Australia. The first of series of 2015 releases for Planète, I can't wait to hear what's next.
