The fifth annual Full Moon Festival is slated to kick off next weekend in New York City.
I Googled it -- next weekend will actually be a full moon (okay, so its one day off, but close enough). No one cares when you look closely at the lineup.
Brooklyn is well represented, with Wolf + Lamb on the bill along with a number of their proteges including Soul Clap, No Regular Play, Navid Izadi, Life On Planets, and Slow Hands. Internationals make an appearance as well, with Tensnake and Yelle out of Europe, along with Australian acts Rufus du Sol and Kite String Tangle.
The year’s Full Moon Festival will be happening at a new location called the Brooklyn Mirage. It’s a new indoor/outdoor event space that will disappear at the blink of an eye, or at least at the end of this summer. It's being talked up as a literal oasis deep in the heart of industrial Brooklyn. Promising an outdoor space with panoramic views of Manhattan, what sets it apart from other warehouse spaces is the quality of its sound system and the amazingness of its warehouse light show.
Full Moon Festival has a reputation for one helluva good time. The fun is happening next Saturday 1 August. Grab your ticket well before the moon rises and they vanish for good.
