Generations of techno and house lovers converged onto Hart Plaza this Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the roots of electronic music. This was my my second year making the pilgrimage to the birthplace of techno in the heart of downtown Detroit, and it won't be my last.
Unlike last year, the weather cooperated and offered an ideal backdrop to the soothing sounds of house music and pulsating techno along the Detroit River that separates the US from Windsor, Canada.
There is something about the citizens of Detroit and their appreciation for electronic music that can't be explained, only experienced. To commemorate this wonderful and inspiring experience, I've assembled a playlist sampling some of the diverse sounds found at this year's Movement festival. Enjoy!
