I've spent the last week helping a good friend run his annual kids' band camp. Through the week I wrangled one hundred kids, ages eight through fourteen, through various pieces of music – helping them keep time, play through their parts...and there may have been a daily water fight or two.
During this time I was not only reminded of an appreciation for more traditional instrumentation, as I watched the kids rock their band instruments, but also the sheer joy of making music. There is nothing like seeing a kid struggle through a piece of music, but finally getting it and playing it perfectly.
Tonight I'm continuing that vibe with some tracks featuring a bit of that band vibe. Enjoy!
