The Hideout Block Party & Onion A.V. Fest returns to the friendly confines of the City of Chicago's waste management parking lot adjacent to the venerable music venue, but don’t be put off by its location tucked between old factory buildings! This year attendees can actually take a river ferry directly to the city’s best fest.
Friday features one of the final Death Cab for Cutie sets that will include Chris Walla before he departs the band he helped found, the return of last year’s headliner the Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, and the hometown band behind the True Detective theme song, The Handsome Family.
Saturday includes the Plastic Crimewave Vision Celestial Guiartkestra, where fans are asked to participate by bringing an instrument to play in a giant psychedelic orchestra of barely organized chaos, a sure-to-be-crowd-surfing Mac DeMarco, the Dan Auerbach-produced Valerie June, and headliners The War on Drugs.
