Indie Shuffle is excited to bring you the world premiere of The Kite String Tangle's new six-track EP, Vessel.  Click "read more" for an exclusive interview and upcoming tour dates!

As an official presenter of The Kite String Tangle's upcoming tour (tour dates here), we figured it only made sense for our main Aussie correspondent Hugh McClure to sit down with Danny and talk music.

Hugh: What are you most looking forward to on the upcoming tour?

TKST: The last couple of tours I’ve been playing music to people who know one or two songs because I hadn't yet properly released an EP or body of work. So this time round will be post-EP-release, and i’m really excited to play music to people and people might know the tracks! :-)

Hugh: Your recent set at Splendour in the Grass had plenty of people talking. Can you tell us about that experience?

TKST: Splendour is one of those milestone festivals that every musician dreams of playing, and so the whole experience was a mix of excitement and nervousness. Such an amazing festival and stage and crowd and everything -- AGH, so good!

Hugh: Do you have a favorite track to play live?

TKST: Not really. I mean, some tracks are my favorites to listen to, but are harder to play live haha. I think my favorite track to play live would be "Given The Chance" because a bunch of people know it and there’s a bit of a moment of euphoria for me. I also really love playing "What If" because it’s quite dynamic.

Hugh: You have also done a bit of live collaborating in the past (both in your set and appearing with others). If you could choose one artist or act to perform with in the future, who would it be?

TKST: Oh wow, what a world of possibilities. I love performing with people who aren’t too similar to me because its more noteworthy, I think. Although it’s great performing with anyone really. If I were to shoot for the stars though, maybe it’d be someone like Disclosure or SBTRKT?

Hugh: Lastly, what's the one thing you always take with you on tour?

TKST: LAPTOP! it’s pretty much my life. I use it for music and e-mails and just everything. I’d have to seriously re-assess my life without that thing.
