Why do we like this?

Why is it so different clipping the nails on one hand compared the other? Almost the same, but they do things with subtle, yet perplexing difference. It's a conundrum that reemerges every time Pond or Tame Impala release music. 

Maybe it'll make more sense if you liken it to the twin you were separated from at birth. You know the one that's probably walking the streets somewhere having similar tastes and identical DNA to you, with equally non-existent clue of your existence.
