Quelle Chris THE CLOCK (The Reality)

Quelle Chris has lived in Detroit, Chicago, and most recently, Oakland. He has a solo rap career, moonlights in the group Awesome In Outer Space, is one half of Crown Nation, and the ultimate truth is that he is one of the sharpest double-edged katanas in his genre of music because of his production resume. Listen to Danny Brown's discography, and it is a sure thing that one of your favorite songs was produced by this man.

Quelle Chris' The SON opens the curtain with its female narrator (Mars Dynamo) letting the listener know "way back in twenty eleven, when hip hop was all sounding like some straight bullisht, a young rapper by the name of Quelle made a demo tape with dreams of being signed by a major record label." One could assume that statement mentioned above is a bold opinion on the state of the post-commercial music industry. A more concise conclusion is that this demo was recently recorded and the rapper/producer wanted to release something for the fans prior to the debut of his proper full length album, Shotgun & Sleek Rifle, due out through Synergy Works on November 15.

It is worth mentioning that Quelle prefers to keep his projects in house. So, when he spills confidence consuming cadences, like "I'm cosigned by my favorite emcee, that's me, heard myself rap and said, damn thats g" on track "MEGA RAPS," he is purposefully hard to deny. Even if his self cosign is over the top, Roc Marciano's cosign of Quelle is reality.

The instrumental featured on album closer "RAP LIFE" is reflection of the rapper's double threat and the final 17 seconds of The SON paint the highly laughable album cover, but not before he can encourage the listener to "do something about it" in regards to "watered down music." Words of encouragement for the go getters, indeed.
