Why do we like this?
You might not yet associate the name of Quelle with great hip hop, but by this time next year that should change. Raised on 40 oz. of Olde English, a naturally contrarian, anti-authority attitude and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, this native of God is a bright light of individuality in the lame landscape of sameness that is the majority of present day hip hop.

As part of his Crown Nation group with fellow producer/MC Denmark Vessey, Quelle has most recently released a vinyl-only album in conjunction with DJ House Shoes, with a guest appearance by Danny Brown, another frequent collaborator. He has soaked up influences in Chicago, Detroit and the Bay area, and this humble rap fan can say in complete confidence that he has yet to hear anyone that sounds quite like Quelle.

His newest project, the soon to be released Shotgun and Sleek Rifle, is a self-produced affair, and we are streaming the first shot from the clip here. "G.O.D. = Power" examines how certain structures of power operate, and for whom and against whom they operate, in the land we live in today. Unbridled, raw and visceral, Quelle's music combines the energy and attitude of punk rock with hip-hop in his music. Take a listen.
