Australian electro trio SAFIA were pegged a while back as a notable and early electronic act to watch. Subsequent releases are impressive, and prove they're deserving of the early hype. Also, they notably supported Lorde on her Australian tour in July.
"You Are The One" is a more soulful and emotional jam than their previous R&B-laced release. It gives us more of a taste of singer Ben Woolner's vocal range, too. I especially like the middle section of this track, when it gets all downtempo and mellow, and then builds nicely to really carry things home. The point is, we're seeing diversity in their early work, and that's exciting!
