Sally Seltmann - We Are The Music

Why do we like this?

Sally Seltmann's credentials are impressive as hell. She co-wrote Feist's Grammy-nominated "1234," was one-third of all-girl supergroup Seeker Lover Keeper (alongside Sarah Blasko and Holly Throsby), and was covered by Bon Iver. Plus, her four solo albums, under the name New Buffalo, showcase a ridiculous range of musical talent. As well as producing, engineering and mixing, she plays guitar, bass, percussion, flute, piano, organ, accordion, and more.

"We Are The Music" signals a shift in sound from previous work. It's a lot bigger, with a dreamy dance beat and a glittering, spirited pop sentimentality that makes it so uplifting and cheerful.

Collaborating on the track were Canadian musicians Jon Lawless (Swim Good) and Aaron Mohr, alongside Sally's husband Darren, formerly of The Avalanches.

The single is the first release on Seltmann's own label Three of Hearts, and her first since relocating from Sydney to Los Angeles. Following on from the single, Seltmann will be reissuing her full back catalogue via the new label.
