Why do we like this?

"Shallow Waters" is the first single off Sebastian Carter's upcoming EP City Lights. It's an impressive lead, making me eager to hear his successive creations.

Following the style of Bonobo and Maribou state, Carter places unrelenting percussion at the focal point, with ambient gusts of sound built around it. He uses arpeggiated synths and thumping bass-drums to create a comprehensive sound that reaches spacey heights and oceanic depths. 

The quality of production and complexity of his sound design place you inside an environment, intertwining inspiration from nature with the creative potential of digital composition.
