LA-based artist spill tab recently released an EP called Oatmilk. Now in case you didn't know (why would you?), I've been a big fan of oat milk for the last year or so (my evolution was soy --> almond --> oat). Given that context, I had to stop and give this a closer listen.
"name" is a lovely indie rock song that wonderfully layers an array of emotive vocals over an upbeat and crisp instrumental line. The subject matter - inspired by a lover's quarrel - bleeds thick and true throughout the song. I think it's that rawness that shines through and makes this a bit of a standout for me.
And then just like that, it's over and done with in less than 2 minutes. No wonder I keep going back for more.
