I don't know about you, but I love pizza. In fact, I don't think there's any other type of food that can incorporate random elements like gooey cheese, tomato sauce, dough, and various types of meats and veggies into a literal slice of hot, steaming, heaven. Sometimes, being in a band can kind of work like a pizza. At least when the band's members make up Strange Talk.
As stated by the band, "It's odd: you've got a classically trained violinist, a dance producer with a DJ background, and two funk/soul musicians. It's weird how it all gels together, but that's the unique flavor of Strange Talk."
That flavor is present on their brand new track "Morning Sun." Coming off of their first full-length album Cast Away, and following a bunch of hype from their self-titled EP (and it's subsequent remix EP -- check out one of the tracks here), Strange Talk continues to make upbeat, fun electro pop.
"Morning Sun" conjures up memories of your youth, when you stayed out all night with nothing to do but waste time. With a screaming synth line leading the way through an all-nighter, filled with pounding drums and bass you can feel inside of you, "Morning Sun" is meant to be listened to while driving around holding that special someone's hand, or sharing a delicious pizza (which always tastes better in the early morning hours).
If you live in Australia, you can get your hands on Cast Away before those of us here in the US, but in the meantime you can go get yourself a download of "Morning Sun" starting on February 4. Pizza not included.
