Why do we like this?
The different instruments on "The River Bend" make me spin. It's a perfectly designed track that's neither too long nor too short. Elements come and go throughout, not one is overbearing.
Subculture and Rachel Chinouriri collaborated around a conversation on unconscious biases towards groups of people different from oneself. "The River Bend" is specifically crafted to evoke an unwarranted threatened feeling from "walking past a group of kids hanging out."
When you listen to the song, and take into account that these two aimed to portray a riverside inner-city street scene, the track becomes even more impressive -- because that's exactly the vibe it gives off.
