Manchester producer Synkro’s sound was born out of his background making dubstep. It’s interesting then to see how his sound has developed into what’s no longer dubstep but still carries hints and flavors of it.
Synkro’s work has featured on Indie Shuffle over the years — usually as remixes, and I wrote up a recent collaboration he did with Lyves back in April. It’s great then to see his solo work get up in time for his debut LP release of Changes via Apollo Records next month.
This track, “Midnight Sun,” is on the longer side at just over six minutes, and for that we get treated to a gradual progression in a sound that’s heavy in beats and Synkro’s self-confessed love of vintage synths. It’s those vintage synths are set to feature throughout his debut album. One worth having on your radar.
