Why do we like this?

The Gaslamp Killer is an oddity. His music is highly accessible, but never really seems to find its way to the masses. Ten points to you if you even knew he'd released a new album, the ever-shifting, always experimental Instrumentalepathy. Shit's mental, and deserves to climb all of your favorite charts.

"The Butcher," featuring San Francisco producer Mophono, whose Cut Form Crush is recommended listening for any self-described beat head, is possibly my favorite instrumental of the year. It's one of many reasons to support The Gaslamp Killer, a man who looks death in the eye and says, "not today."
