Oh The Gromble, where to start, where to finish? “Don’t Stand A Chance” takes me so many different places I feel like I have to lay down and nap after listening to it. Based out of Orange County, this band spins a new twist on the territory’s ever-so-famous “shallow, in-the-bubble” stereotype — this group is anything but that.
At first, the listener is gently cradled in the arms of orchestral strings and alluring vocals, only to be launched into oblivion as drums pulsate through the veins and vocals rip open the skull. Just when you think it’s over, you’re blasting back into space for the big finale and left feeling like you’ve seen the moon.
The new album is soon to come, and it feels like being stuck in traffic when you’re late for work. It’s all I can do to keep it together; stay patient and remain calm. So open your ears, buckle your belts, sit back, and relish in the ride.
