Why do we like this?

I'd never heard of bi-coastal US duo TIDES until this release. Upon doing some sleuthing, I've come to find they started the project a mere six months ago and are already making some big waves (pun intended) in the music world.

Their sound ties together R&B, pop, and electronic with style and flavor. "Take My Hand" is a triumphant sing-along with a swelling chorus, wavering guitars, and polarized harmonies. While the lyrics aren't the most original, it's an infectious feel-good tune I can be pictured playing at a seaside bar on a warm evening.

Though TIDES are a new artist, "Take My Hand" definitely nods to the old school, exuding a bit of a Phil Collins vibe. They also do a sweet cover of Chance The Rapper's "Same Drugs." Keep an eye out for these two.
