Why do we like this?

Norwegian producer Todd Terje is known to many for his playful and synth-driven house tracks. For the past decade, Terje has impressed listeners with distinct singles like "Snooze 4 Love" and a variety of edits including "You Should Be Dancin'" by The Bee Gees.

The fact that he's managed to create such a name for himself without the release of an album is already pretty impressive, so the upcoming release of his debut LP on April 8th promises to be a sonic spectacle of note.

This track delights on several accounts. It's a cover of Robert Palmer's '80s single, "Johnny and Mary," an underrated classic with a style that still rings relevant today. Bryan Ferry of Roxy Music provides the vocals, and he and Todd Terje happen to make a spectacular duo. Ferry's vocals shine delicately and powerfully with a tinge of nostalgia, while Terje gives us an idea of the magic that he's capable of achieving while working with vocals, something not often heard in his original works.

A flawlessly smooth combination, this track sounds not only like an original in it's own right, but an eye-opening and inspiring preview for Terje's forthcoming album.
