Why do we like this?

Fort Romeau is one of my favorite producers. His tracks, original or remixed, are hallmarked by their intelligent yet emotional overtones. Taking on a single by Tony Allen, Fort Romeau gives us yet another solid production.

The remix of "Go Back" is smooth and delicately integrated into the track; the vocals caress the melody with their breathy vibe. Piquant synths come in as Romeau folds in layer upon layer, complicated and beautiful. As the track gives way to a stripped down percussion-fulled bridge, the stratified melody is brought back in for the finish.

Also worth a listen is the Ghostly's XLR8R podcast.
