Why do we like this?
Vilde gives us a lyrical canvas of enigmatic brushes, sensitive strokes, and heartfelt textures.
Vilde's layered track "Subpar sentiment, cracking skin, a gene forgotten so long ago" is a feeling and moment, I am all too familiar with, concentrated into a sharp, quiet and engrossing 3-minute escape. It's the late-night cigarette after work, the 2 am quiet anxiety, the 3 am sad, and the 4 am sleep all pushed into the strumming of a guitar and the comforting, yet emotionally weighted, vocal performance.
Vilde is a must for the struggler in all of us.
