My happy place is the ocean. It doesn't matter how rough the seas, cold the water, or difficult the trek, the ocean is where I find serenity. When I am stuck at places like work or inland, my remedy is good ol' fashioned surf rock.
White Wishes, with a totally SoCal vibe, is actually based in Berlin -- a meager couple hundred kilometers from any large body of water. Yet, "Hold Your Hand" has the gripping nature to immediately transport me to the place I love most: the sea.
Classic reverb-y surf rock guitar riffs entwine perfectly with the lead singer's subtle and unassuming vocals. Slowly, the song builds and then fades into the perfectly chill outro.
You can tell the band is on key and in rhythm, but as sad as it is, this is their only track on SoundCloud. I really wish they had more out there as this song brings the same elated and centered feeling that I have after a great surf session and I want more!
