After months of speculation about their forthcoming new album, A Better Tomorrow, the first single has finally dropped, and it's a beauty. Sounding like it's straight out of the Shaolin dungeon of 90s era Wu, "Keep Watch" finds Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and GZA trading lyrical blows over an old school mono beat, with Nathaniel's smooth vocals anchoring the hook.
This is a great preview of what's in store for the Wu's sixth album, and while all four members bring the ruckus, you can't go past Meth's opening verse and shout out to Redman and Dr Spock.
The biggest disappoint about the song, as well as the album, is the apparent absence of Raekwon and Ghostface, with Pitchfork reporting that both have minimal input into the new project. Bad news aside, this is still a new Wu song, so you won't hear too many complaints from me!
