What's so good?

Jason uttered a bucket of truth when he asked, “Who the heck is Alex Clare, and why the heck haven’t I heard of him before?” Clare pretty much came out of nowhere, opened up his pipes, and we are taking serious note. Undeniably, this dude has some far-reaching vocal girth.

Recently loaded onto his SoundCloud, “Caroline” is a track from his 2011 release The Lateness of the Hour, a melodramatic piece with haunting yet playful piano and the strong, emotive vocals which we are coming to expect from the artist. It’s a similar vibe to his cover of Etta James’ “Damn Your Eyes,” and leads away from the dubstep-laden beats from some of his other tracks (a very happy point for me). The lyrics are accusatory and invincible — “I can find a way to make your love me more than you do, Caroline.” Don’t fret, Alex. We believe you.

I am more than pumped to see what comes from this soulful, era-less artist in the future. For more information on Clare, check out his official site here.
