So I think it’s pretty safe to say that the world will NOT end anytime soon, but in the case that it does, I think that Walk Off The Earth’s recent cover of Asaf Avidan’s “Reckoning Song (One Day)” is quite appropriate.
The Canadian indie outfit went viral after covering Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” on YouTube late last year, and now have become superstars in their own right with their clever low budget videos and creativity.
For a band known for their quirky covers, this particular track is a just a tad more on the serious side. The song about the day of reckoning is complete with a soaring vocal harmonies and jivey folk vibe bound to have you singing along… even if it’s about the end of the world.
