It’s a little bizarre to encounter dubstep that’s a little more mellow, but here we have it: Band of Horses’ “The Funeral” remixed by Butch Clancy — and it sounds pretty darn good! This is probably an awesome one to listen to in your car (FYI, if you’ve got an iPhone, you can play from Indie Shuffle’s website).
Like many, I tend to associate dubstep with a bit more “womp womp wobble” — a theme that finds itself cropping up at more and more parties these days (Are the days of the rave gone? Funnily enough this one has some ravey moments). But as with techno, it’s nice to see that dubstep can be adapted to a form that’s approachable by listeners of varying backgrounds.
