What's so good?

Man, anyone else still feeling the America love after last weekend? I spent the evening of the 4th watching fireworks explode above with a hot dog in one hand and a MGD in the other. “Who am I?!” went half my brain. “America!!” screamed the other.

Luckily, both sides of my brain are quite satisfied with the Americana sounds touted by the boys of Blitzen Trapper. What a consistently excellent folk rock band; their sound is distinct and recognizable, but their musical evolution and artistic growth is evident with each new release.

“American Goldwing” is a fresh new single off their upcoming album of the same name (it will be the Portland band’s fifth release). Harmonica rich, and with a toothsome quality to the vocals, it’ll have you looking for your American flag bandana in no time. Or at the very least, get you in the mood to crack open a cold one.
