What's so good?

Russia’s Cats Park have just released a single entitled “Safety,” and it’s a really refreshing take on modern downtempo trip-hop.

There’s an obvious, eerie vibe that’s given off throughout the entire song. Slightly atmospheric and ethereal, the combination of ominous tones and trippy synth highlights makes for a heart-wrenching style that Cats Park call their own. The vocals are piercingly clear, while the mysterious undertone of electronics gives a nice balance. There’s also a slightly industrial touch to this track that seems to weave in and out, never staying for too long.

It seems as though this genre will stand the test of time because there are so many ways it can morph and be redefined. Cats Park has their Face The Future EP available on their Bandcamp, along with this single.
