Bit Funk just dropped an absolutely groovy mix (listen here) this week with a funky fresh tracklist. The first song in the mix is “Listen” by German duo Chopstick & Johnjon, off their recent Versions EP.
Jumping off with a bare bones percussion, the duo slowly slips in some chopped, soulful vocal clips, bringing all the elements together for a suave, upbeat production. I’m not sure what the inspiration was behind it, but I’d love to pretend that it came from an electro-filled time travel trip to New Orleans in the 1940s, a visit complete with chain smoking, premium whiskey, and plenty of sexy bodies to go around.
