What's so good?

Guy and Howard Lawrence are brothers — 17 and 20 years old — making awesome music as Disclosure.

2011 was a good year for the genetically linked duo, and they seem to be starting out 2012 strong. Their newest EP, a double A-side featuring single “Flow,” will be released on February 7 via Make Mine. “Flow” is infused with multiple genres – dubstep, UK garage, dance, soul, and house – and is exponentially uplifting and sexy in it’s highs and lows. There’s a certain identifiable luxurious quality in its smoothness that is refreshing and invigorating. This is a song that can spin beautifully in a lounge or a late-night dance floor.

Being so young and innately talented, I’ve read some flack from the music community in the form of “but do they know where the origins of their sound came from?” I ask, if you eat a delicious cupcake, do you REALLY care if the chef knows the origin of said dessert? I think not.

With an upcoming tour supporting UK 2011 breakout SBTRKT, Disclosure is setting themselves up for a stellar year. Let’s all hope they jump the puddle and make it to the U.S. as well.

To preorder the EP, visit Make Mine’s Bandcamp. For a free download from the Lawrence brothers, visit their official facebook page and give ‘em a like. You know you want to.
