What's so good?

I'm not quite sure what to make of the fact that Lucius are covering a song from Freelance Whales' debut album Weathervanes, and not their newest release Diluvia. Clearly it's testament to how great their original release was, and perhaps an indication that they too feel victim to the sophomore slump.

The good news is twofold: 1) people haven't forgotten about their prior work; 2) lots of bands have sophomore slumps and come out all the better.

To the former point, today's Song of the Day is a tropical acoustic cover of the band's song "Ghosting" by Lucius. Who is Lucius, you ask? They're a Brookly-based duo by the names Jess Wolfe & Holly Laessig. They recently released an EP (which I haven't actually checked out), but seem to be generating some attention. The Music Ninja is certainly gaga for them...
