There are a few things I am certain of in this ever-changing world: death, taxes, weekends, and the power of SoundCloud. It’s just about impossible for me to overstate how wonderful the site is for music fans and bloggers alike. Product placements aside, the service has granted me unlimited access to an endless stream of musical goodness — some of which I’d love to share with you.
A lot of bedroom producers take advantage of the platform, so there are countless “remixes” floating around. Some are just awful. Others are okay. When a good remix makes it’s way into my ears, though — I tell you — it’s something special.
Check out the below tidbits and make sure to add them to your weekend playlist. There’s a wonderfully mellow Native Sons remix from Chicago producer Edamame and a soulful J. Cole rework compliments of Urban Noize. Don’t know much about Kaiji yet, other than the fact that I obsessed with “Chances.” And I swear I will lay off The Peach Kings posts as soon as we thoroughly overplay this “Fisherman” remix.
Oh, and that Shins remix. You’re gonna want to become friends with that.
