Sometimes local talent sneaks up on my unexpectedly. Case in point: Gourmet, who's song I decided to premiere before realizing he was actually from the same city as me (Cape Town). Cool! "Forever Backwards" is a great experimental indie track that ends up sounding quite mature given that it's off the artist's debut album. That said, it's clearly no fluke -- we picked up on another one of his singles "Animals" a mere two days ago. Gourmet will be releasing Cashmere for free on December 29th via boutique label 1991, so be sure to keep an eye out.
