Joel Baker

Every Vessel Every Vein

Sounds like: Ben Howard, James Vincent McMorrow, Mumford & Sons
Joel Baker is a name you may know from a particularly memorable cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe,” released earlier last year. Today, Indie Shuffle are lucky enough to get an exclusive premiere of the singer/songwriter’s new single, “Every Vessle, Every Vein.”Opening with gently cooed calls and softly plucked guitar, the track soon breaks into a soulful, folk-inflected ballad. As the song reaches its stunning climax, Baker’s gravelly vocals are met with those of two different backing groups. One, a gospel-like choir, the other, a slightly hoarser brigade whose repeated shouts of the track’s chorus bring the song to a rousing close. The track is the first to be taken from Baker’s upcoming EP, Every Vessle, set for release on 11th May.
