I’d say it’s a fair assumption that the French Express label is popular here at Indie Shuffle. With amazing trop house and nu disco sounds, anyone on this label is an easy go to for any weekend affair…or weekday, if you’re going for an aggressive work night. And stating that they are one of “your crusaders against the crapola” and “your protectors of the feel good” makes the label all that much easier for any music snob to love.
“Since I Don’t Have You” by Jonas Rathsman is clearly a track of note. Bringing strong trop-house beats and basic, soulful vocal samples, no one can refute the worthiness of this jam. I would also like to point out how amazingly fit the album artwork is for this track: an angular, grey face with one fat, pink tear, and a font stolen right from 1983. Nothing could work better for this tune.
