What's so good?

Those listening to Josh Kumra may be quick to liken him to a young Ray LaMontagne or Ben Harper, but in my book he's best compared to Alex Clare. Especially when the deep house sounds of Cinematic are brought into the mix.

"Waiting For You" will be released officially in January, but was made available on Josh's Soundcloud about 3 weeks ago. The original song features layered back-up vocals (think gospel), and an overarching bluesy feel. It's almost like listening to Gnarles Barkley.

Which is why I find this remix so fascinating: Cinematic have completely flipped the vibe of the song, with a final sound that would fit in perfectly at a late-night venue. If you were to corner me on it, I'd say it's probably best categorized as some form of deep house.
